No sign of the rat and I am really looking forward to a day of doing very little. My body feels tired and I am sure it will appreciate the inactivity. Over the last week I have lost 2lbs and half and inch from my waist so I am feeling pretty encouraged by that. Chill.
Making breakfast this morning I was greeted by rustling in the cupboards and it wasn’t one of my boys. The visitor was brown and had a long tale also with a penchant for wholewheat flour. Never having had to deal with a rat in my adult life before is a new experience and I am taking no prisioners I have purchased a heavy duty rat trap and am going to entice the furry friend with a morsel of tuna. Just waiting for the snap now.
38 mins of cardio tonight so I am close to my goal of doing 40 mins at 70 - 80% of my maximum heart rate. This is quite an achievement when a few weeks ago I was struggling to do 20 mins. However, I have decided that I am going to change my goal and aim for 45 mins. No praticular rational for this apart from it is the same length as half a game of football!!
This is the title of a song by Heather Small which is great to work out to. I do feel extremely proud today I did my cardio as planned last night despite feeling so sore. Also I have had an excellent Chest workout this evening so I am buzzing. It is amazing how good you can feel when you push yourself to do something that you thought might not be possible.
Well I can hardly move today after my leg workout last night and it will only get worse in the next 24 hours. I am really hoping that this level of soreness will not continue after the first couple of weeks. It is comforting to know that I have worked my body but I have no desire to get on the bike feeling this sore.
A heavy leg workout tonight this is the first time I have really worked my legs in a year and I can feel it already. The next few days could be interesting as the soreness sets in! Also I finally dropped a couple of pounds today after things looked like they were standing still. Of course it could be that my muscle mass is improving and my fat dropping but there isn’t too much evidence for that at the moment.
An excellent night on the bike this evening I felt refreshed after my rest day and managed to get 35 mins solid riding. I think I could have done more by my rear end started going numb. I need to figure out a way to stop that so I can get up to 40 mins which is my goal. From that point I will be looking to increase the speed and intensity. Tomorrow is my first proper leg day which could be interesting for two reasons:
- If I feel as sore after it as I did with my chest workout I might not be able to walk and the following day with my cardio could be “interesting”!
- It will be difficult to gauge whether I am lifting too much on my weaker leg as it is a good 9 months since I last was doing my physio.
Well I need to get a shower and get to bed work is starting to get really busy!
